Cranbury, NJ – July 29, 2025 – AmeriHealth today announced its winners for the second annual Be of Service campaign. The Covenant House New Jersey (CHNJ) was selected as Corporate Citizen of the Year and Leslie Klemm as Volunteer of the Year, both of whom have gone above and beyond for their communities.
AmeriHealth believes strengthening the communities it serves helps create healthier futures for its members and those they serve. By recognizing how others exceed expectations – through charitable efforts, excellence in philanthropy, volunteering or community service – AmeriHealth wants to celebrate those who have demonstrated impactful work while encouraging them to remain committed to their communities.

Corporate Citizen of the Year – Covenant House New Jersey (CHNJ)
Founded in 1989, Covenant House New Jersey (CHNJ) is the largest statewide provider of emergency shelter, housing, and supportive services to youth ages 18-24 facing homelessness and survivors of human trafficking. Last year, CHNJ helped nearly 2,000 young people through its programs and services. In 2020, CHNJ became the state’s official provider of services to trafficking survivors. CHNJ operates seven residences in Atlantic, Essex, Monmouth, and Union counties, including two 24/7 youth shelters in Atlantic City and Newark, and transitional housing in all four counties. Volunteer of the Year – Leslie Klemm
Leslie Klemm is a resident and retired schoolteacher of William Allen III Middle School in Moorestown, N.J. After a 31-year teaching career, Leslie retired in June 2024 and volunteered her time to help paint a mural in The Larc Norcross School’s library. She also supported additional needs at the school’s library, such as adding to the digital catalog, changing displays, repairing books, as well as reading to students. The Larc Norcross School, located in Bellmawr, NJ, is a special place for Leslie, as her daughter, Trixie, graduated from there last year.
Members of the public were able to submit nominations for both an individual or organization that resides or is headquartered in the state of New Jersey. The nominations were reviewed by a panel of judges from AmeriHealth based on the essay submission and selected a winner for each category. Winners of each award will receive a $500 gift card from AmeriHealth and a donation of $1,500 to a charity of their choice.
